We are a team of leading exercise physiologists and researchers dedicated to advancing the understanding of exercise thresholds and their applications in both athletic performance and health. Our collaborative work combines decades of research expertise with cutting-edge technology to make exercise physiology education and analysis accessible to researchers, clinicians, and practitioners worldwide.

Daniel Keir is an Assistant Professor in the School of Kinesiology at The University of Western Ontario. His overall research interest is in understanding how the cardiorespiratory and muscle metabolic systems respond, interact and adapt to environments, activities and conditions that challenge oxygen availability and blood gas homeostasis in health and chronic disease.

Danilo Iannetta is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical and Experimental Sciences at the University of Brescia (Italy). His current research focuses on understanding and resolving the physiological factors and the methodological challenges underpinning optimal exercise training prescription in healthy and clinical populations.

Andrea Zignoli is an engineer specialising in mathematical modelling of sports physiology and performance. Based in Verona, Italy, he applies artificial intelligence to areas such as cardiopulmonary exercise testing, cornering strategies in road cycling, training prescription, and continuous glucose monitoring. Andrea is actively involved in the development of Athletica.ai, an AI-driven platform grounded in HIIT Science principles. He also contributes to the scientific community as an Associate Editor for Sports Engineering and as a reviewer for several top-50 journals in sports science.

Felipe Mattioni Maturana is a Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder at Enhance-d. He holds a PhD summa cum lauda in Exercise Physiology from the University of Tübingen, in Germany. His main interests are exercise physiology, sports science, data science, software development, and entrepreneurship.

Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Dr. Juan Murias originally developed a career as a tennis coach and conditioning trainer. Juan completed his undergraduate degree in Physical Education and an MSc in Exercise Physiology in his hometown. After moving to Montreal in 2003, Juan completed a second MSc at McGill University, followed by a PhD in Integrative Physiology of Exercise and Postdoctoral training on vascular control at The University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario). Currently, Juan is an Associate Professor in the College of Health and Life Sciences at Hamad Bin Khalifa University. The main goal of Juan's research is focused on the use of exercise training interventions to improve cardiovascular function and performance. Studies have reported that people who regularly perform endurance exercise demonstrate improved cardiovascular function compared to people who live a more sedentary lifestyle. Importantly, adequate prescription of exercise is required to maximize the benefits of exercise training. Juan's Research Group is examining the optimal intensity of exercise to improve cardiovascular function in different populations, ranging from young healthy to older individuals as well as clinical populations.
